I am passionate about racial equality and realize that many Black, Indigenous, and People of Color have faced rejection, oppression, violence, and hatred due to their skin color, which can have profound effects on one's mental health. Iā€™m particularly drawn to working with 1st and 2nd generation immigrants. I also know the deep resiliency and unique beauty that comes from our ancestors and our communities. Much of my own passion and understanding around these issues comes from my own lived experience as a South Asian woman and daughter of immigrants, identities that carry immense privilege and immense oppression. I understand the reality of living in-between identities and cultures and the search for belonging.   I am consistently trying to practice from an anti-oppression lens and actively unlearning and decolonizing therapy. I honor that systemic oppression cannot be solved by individual therapy and hope that our work together can help repair some of the profound effects of oppression on our souls, bodies, and minds.
