Grief can be caused by many different losses-death of a loved one, shifting relational dynamics in one's family or intimate relationship, a medical diagnosis for yourself or a loved one, a loss of a job, a recent move, the end of a relationship, etc. Whatever the loss is, it's meant to be met with compassion and understanding. Despite popular culture, grief is not a five stage or six month linear process, grief ebbs and flows much like the tides of an ocean. Often times grief comes out of no where when we least expect it and other times it comes when we are reminded of the loss through a song or a location or a favorite scent. I would be honored to be with you on your grief journey as someone who can bear witness to the absence of whatever and whomever you loss and, in turn, also honor the love you held for whomever and whatever you may be grieving.
